Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- St. Cloud State University (SCSU) scored a goal 1:42 into the second half to break a scoreless tie and added two more goals to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 3-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer game today in St. Cloud, Minn.
After a scoreless first half, Kayla Kramer scored at 46:42 off an assist from Kate Hanzlik to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Huskies. SCSU increased their lead to 2-0 at 77:54 when Becca Hodous scored off an assist from Kara Dahmen. The Huskies closed out the scoring at 86:54 when Kara Espinosa scored off assists from Mary Morhardt and Laura Moline.
Kenzie Hanzlik recorded four saves to earn the shut-out for SCSU.
Amanda Stapleton (Jr, F, Jonesboro, Ark.) recorded 11 saves for the Golden Eagles.
St. Cloud State University improves to 4-4-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 1-8-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 when they host Northern State University and the University of Mary respectively. Saturday's game begins at 11 a.m. while Sunday's begins at 1 p.m.
