Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Kristen Erickson scored two goals in the first 5:48 of the game as Bemidji State University (BSU) defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston 2-0 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) opener for both teams today in Crookston, Minn.
Erickson found the Golden Eagle net at 1:43 off of assists from Kathryn Bjorge and Samantha Lumberg. Erickson made the score 2-0 at 5:48 with an unassisted goal.
Abby Kjonaas recorded four saves to get the shut-out.
Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) stopped five BSU shots for U of M, Crookston.
The Beavers improve to 2-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the NSIC.
U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Sunday, September 18 against the University of Minnesota Duluth. The game begins at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
