Golden Eagles Women’s Soccer Team Returns Home for Three Games

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston returns home for three games this week. The Golden Eagles dropped a pair of non-conference games on the road this weekend losing 3-0 to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Augustana College on Saturday and 2-0 to the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday. Both games were played in Sioux Falls, S.D.

U of M, Crookston will host Minot State University (MSU) in a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 14 at 5 p.m. They open NSIC action on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 against Bemidji State University (BSU) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) respectively. Both games start at 1 p.m.

The Golden Eagles are led by Nikki Hammond (So, F, Nelson, Minn.) who has scored one goal for two points. Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) has a 2.75 goals against average and a .771 saves percentage.

Golden Eagles vs. Minot State University                    Wednesday, September 14        5 p.m.

The Beavers have an overall record 3-1-0 after dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to Bemidji State University on Sunday. No other information was available.

Golden Eagles vs. Bemidji State University                Saturday, September 17            1 p.m.

BSU has an overall record of 1-3-0 after defeating Minot State University 2-1 in overtime on Sunday. Kristen Erickson has scored two goals and added one assist for five points.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Minnesota Duluth    Sunday, September 18                1 p.m.

The Bulldogs have an overall record of 0-2-1 after dropping a 1-0 decision to the Colorado School of Mines at home on Sunday. UMD is led by Maureen Stormont who has scored one goal and added one assist for three points.
