Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK) scored a goal in each half and went on to shutout the University of Minnesota, Crookston 2-0 in a non-conference women's soccer game today in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Lopers got on the scoreboard just 6:05 into the game when Morgan Abert scored an unassisted goal off a free kick. UNK scored their second goal at 52:50 when Ashtin Pawloski scored an unassisted goal.
Marissa Niday recorded two saves for the Lopers.
Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) recorded 14 saves for U of M, Crookston.
UNK improves 2-2-0. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-4-0.
U of M, Crookston returns to action with three home games this week. They will face Minot State University in non-conference action on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Golden Eagles will then open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) season on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 when they face Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth respectively. Both games begin at 1 p.m.
