Golden Eagles Await Playoff Fate Following 76-63 Loss to Augustana

(Sioux Falls, S.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team played Augustana College tonight in both teams final regular season game of the season. The Golden Eagles, currently in eighth place in the NSIC fell to the Vikings 76-63. Minnesota, Crookston, University of Mary and Minnesota State are all now tied for the final playoff spot and will await their fate based on the NSIC formula to decide what team will advance.
 
The Golden Eagles were led by Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Anessa Hicks (G, 5-2, Fr., St. Paul, Minn.) who tallied 13 points each. Zelinsky was 4-10 from the field and 5-6 from the line while Hicks was 5-9 from the field and 2-4 from long range. Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Jr., Rosemount, Minn.) and Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, So., Rosemount, Minn.) followed Zelinsky and Hicks with 11 and 10 points respectively and both grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
 
Augustana was led by Alex Feeney who scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the only double-double of the game. Tessa Wilka added 15 points and went 3-4 from long range.
 
Minnesota, Crookston moves to 13-13 overall and 10-12 in the NSIC. Augustana advances to 20-9 and 13-9 in conference play.
