Box Score (Sioux Falls, S.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team continued to play outstanding second half basketball as the Golden Eagles traveled to Augustana College today and defeated the Vikings 73-70. Minnesota, Crookston found themselves down by four 37-34 after the first 20 minutes of play, but the Golden Eagles came out in the second half and shot 44.8% (13-29) from the field and 75% (12-16) from the free-throw line to outpace the Vikings 40-33 in the second half to secure the NSIC victory.
The Golden Eagles were led this afternoon by
Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, Jr., Albertville Minn.) who tallied a game-high and tied a career-high with 24 points. She was 8-22 from the field, 2-4 from long range and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. She grabbed six rebounds, dished three assists and earned three steals in the contest. Wiese was followed by
Megan Eul (F, 5-10, Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) and Ebony Livingston (G, 5-9, Fr., Minneapolis, Minn.) who scored 15 and 10 points respectively. Eul also grabbed a game-high four steals while
Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, Jr., Rosemount, Minn.) tied a game-high with nine rebounds.
Augustana was led by Alex Feeney who scored 16 points. She was 7-14 from the field and tied a game-high with nine rebounds. She was followed by Lydia Nelson who scored 15 points while Molly Hayes dished a game-high five assists.
Minnesota, Crookston advances to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. Augustana falls to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court on Saturday, December 18 to play #9 Wayne State College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
