Warriors Blank Golden Eagles 4-0

Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Winona State University (WSU) erupted for three first half goals and added one more in the second on their way to a 4-0 shut-out victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action today in Winona, Minn.

The Warriors first got on the board at 22:48 when Melissa Sellier scored an unassisted goal after she received the ball on a rebound off a penalty kick. Sarah Colleran made the score 2-0 at 29:04 when she scored a goal off an assist from Samantha Fagen. WSU went up 3-0 at 41:02 when Hadley Bales scored an unassisted goal. The Warriors closed out scoring at 58:58 when Taylor Zehren scored off assists from Sellier and Colleran.

Anna Belpedio played 66:12 for WSU and recorded five saves to record the shut-out. Alaxandria Vial played the final 23:48 but did not face any shots on goal. Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) recorded six saves for U of M, Crookston.

The Warriors improve to 13-3-1 overall and 11-1-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 3-13-1 overall and 2-9-1 overall.
U of M, Crookston closes out the season with an NSIC game at Upper Iowa University on Sunday, October 30. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
