Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Augustana College opened up a 2-0 lead at the half and added three more goals in the second half as the Vikings defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston 5-0 today in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Augustana College first got on the board at 14:20 when Jessie Huff scored off a free kick. She was assisted by Kate Timmons. Hailey Berner made the score 2-0 at 37:02 when she scored an unassisted goal off a rebound.
Berner opened the second half scoring with her second goal at 47:41 off a penalty kick. Payton Pry increased the lead to 4-0 at 49:36 when she scored an unassisted goal from the right side. Leslie Walker closed out the scoring at 83:48 when she scored from the left side to make the score 5-0. She was assisted by Stephanie Stevens.
Amanda Wagner did not face a shot on goal in the first half for the Vikings while Ashley Limmer recorded one save in the second half.
Drew Underdahl (Fr, G, Zumbro Falls, Minn.) recorded one save while
Ashley Aman (Fr, G, Grafton, Wis.) recorded three saves for U of M, Crookston.
Augustana College improves to 9-7-0 overall and 6-5-0 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 3-12-1 overall and 2-8-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles close out the 2011 season on Saturday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30 when they travel to Winona State University and Upper Iowa University. Game times are set for 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
