Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer team capped off a successful homecoming weekend today in Crookston, Minn. The Golden Eagles took their second straight shut-out victory defeating the University of Mary (U-Mary) 2-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) game.
Nikki Hammond (So, F, Nelson, Minn.) scored her second game-winning goal in as many days with a shot from 15 yards out at 16:32 to put U of M, Crookston up 1-0. She was assisted by
Brittany Taylor (So, F, Noblesville, Ind.).
Jessica Ramirez (Fr, F, Millbrae, Cal.) iced the victory at 86:47 when she deflected a free ball over the goal keeper from 25 yards out for an unassisted goal.
Amanda Stapleton (Jr, G, Jonesboro, Ark.) was exceptional in net again stopping four Marauder shots to earn her second shut-out in as many days.
The Golden Eagles improve to 3-8-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the NSIC. U-Mary falls to 6-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the NSIC.
U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Friday, October 7 when they travel to Moorhead, Minn. to face MSU Moorhead. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Sunday, October 2 as they host the University of Mary. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
