Box Score (Crookston, Minn.)- Eighth ranked Minnesota State University (MSU) scored two goals in the first half of the game and went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 2-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer today in Crookston, Minn. The Mavericks outshot U of M, Crookston 14-2 overall.
MSU scored their first goal just 1:28 into the game when Brittany Henry drilled a goal to the upper, right hand corner of the goal. She was assisted by Ashley Sykora and Lauren Somers. Henry struck again at 34:32, this time from ten yards out, off assists from Brianne West and Tori Meinhardt.
Amanda Stapleton recorded ten saves for the Golden Eagles.
The Mavericks improve to 12-1-1 overall and 9-0-0 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 3-10-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23 as they travel to Wayne State College and Augustana College respectively. Both games begin at 1 p.m.
