LITCHFIELD PARK, ARIZ. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team is in seventh of 13 teams after the first round of the SMSU Spring Invite at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The Golden Eagles shot an opening round 320, their sixth-best mark of the season after a strong fall. Monday's round was their first of the 2026 spring season.
Minnesota Crookston is 16 strokes behind Western New Mexico University in the lead. They currently trail Chadron State University in fifth by nine strokes, and Fort Lewis by five strokes. They lead host institution Southwest Minnesota State University by 12 strokes. The only NSIC school they trail is Concordia University-St. Paul in fourth. They also lead Bemidji State University and Minot State University.
Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.) is guiding the Golden Eagles in seventh after a three-over-par 75. She trails the leaders by just two strokes. Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) shot a four-over-par 76 to sit in ninth. Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, N.D.) carded a 12-over-par 84. Lauren Bowyer (Sr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) shot a 13-over-par 85. Ainsley McLain (Jr., Grafton, N.D.) carded a 92, while Lilly Mahlberg (Jr., Worthington, Minn.) competing as an individual, posted an 84.
Addi Wood of Concordia-St. Paul, Izabella Pezicka of MSU-Denver, and Falyn Lackey of Western New Mexico shot a one-over-par 73.
The Golden Eagles conclude the SMSU Spring Invite Tuesday, March 10 in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
