Kelley Pierce came to the University of Minnesota, Crookston from Hill City, Minnesota. She was recruited by Coach Lori Ulferts.
Pierce lettered in both volleyball and basketball at UMC. In 1987, her athletic skills and talent helped UMC place fifth in the state volleyball tournament. As a member of the 1986-87 basketball team, she helped the team win the state championship and place third in Region 13.
In 1987-88, Kelley continued to play volleyball and again helped the 1987-88 basketball team win the Minnesota Community College Conference Championship. Pierce also competed in softball.
Lori Ulferts, currently coach at St. Cloud State University, said, "Kelley, along with LeeAnn Langenbau, gave UMC a 1-2 punch that led the team to a great year."
